Aurelio, Natale, Franco, and Giuseppe Galipo immigrated to Canada in the late 1950s, and would establish Sicilian Ice Cream on May 28th, 1959. The dream was to open a cafe that would provide a comforting sense of home to other immigrants coming in from Italy. They would sell coffee and gelato in their storefront, and used their original Sicilian recipe to craft the gelato in the back.
Upon multiple requests to cater large Italian weddings of hundreds of guests, the Galipo Brothers built a manufacturing facility directly behind the cafe, where they would teach the second generation the art of gelato. The second generation would carry on the manufacturing of the Sicilian Ice Cream brand, while the brothers continued to run the cafe.
A new chapter of the Sicilian story began in 2004, when a second expansion was much needed. The Galipo family designed and built a new facility in Vaughan. Today, the product originally created by the Galipo Brothers is available in major supermarkets, small independents, and Italian bakeries across the province. The cafe is now fully run by the second and third generations.

And 2 sorbets... Lemon & Raspberry (We also carry Strawberry and Mango in the summer)
In addition, we offer 4 or 5 new flavours every month in the summer. Enjoy them while they last!
Our cannoli are filled with our secret traditional ricotta recipe perfected in Capo d'Orlando, Sicily, and kept within the Galipo family bloodline.
